Dr Andrew Murrison has welcomed the announcement this week by Health Secretary Matt Hancock of new CT and MRI scanners for 78 NHS Trusts including 12 in the south west and a MRI scanner at Salisbury District Hospital.
On Saturday I went to the Imber open day. I’ve been involved with the deserted village on and off over the years and particularly when we were persuading the fantastic Churches Conservation Trust to take on the only remaining building in one piece which is St Giles.
Andrew Murrison has been looking into rough sleeping in his area and has visited a hostel in Trowbridge run by Wiltshire Council and the charity Alabare and funded under the government’s Rough Sleeper Initiative.
Andrew Murrison has welcomed the announcement on Monday of 37 special free schools, including six in the south west. He has written to Wiltshire Council to see how this will affect its current consultation on provision in the county;
Andrew has secured a debate tomorrow in the chamber of the House of Commons on special needs in Wiltshire. It follows Wiltshire Council’s plans to close Larkrise School in Trowbridge and St Nicholas in Chippenham in order to build a new larger special school at Rowde near Devizes.
