Andrew has visited a site in the Wylye Valley in his constituency where new full fibre broadband is being installed by a local company.
Wessex Internet, which specialises in providing full fibre broadband to previously uncovered rural areas in the South West, kindly showed Andrew around their dig site. Dr Murrison was told about the company’s innovative ‘soft dig’ approach of using water and air pressure to excavate soil, which Andrew described as “keyhole surgery for infrastructure.”

“It was great to get briefed up on progress in filling gaps left by mainstream broadband rollout. Connecting more isolated properties is central to realising the full potential of rural businesses in our area.”
