Andrew today had a Teams meeting with senior Lloyds Bank officials to discuss plans for the bank's planned closure of its branch in Warminster in November.
Lloyds will replace the branch with a Community Banker visiting a day a week at a location in the town to be determined. It will otherwise point people to the Post Office, ATMs and Nationwide.
Andrew said;
"There is unhappiness in the town that Lloyds is closing its branch due to the severe drop in footfall. I do understand the commercial pressures but the community banker facility should at least provide a service for personal customers and small businesses who want a face-to-face encounter with an experienced bank official.
"I am though concerned that the Sub Post Office, already stretched at times, may come under more pressure and will be taking capacity up with Post Office.
"I was assured today that the large Lloyds branch in Trowbridge will remain.
