Andrew is calling for the closure of Hills Waste's infamous Westbury MBT plant at Northacre.
Andrew had a Teams meeting with Wessex Environment Agency on Tuesday and has expressed his gratitude for the agency's efforts to try to get a workable solution out of Hills Waste that will reduce the plant's odour to an acceptable level.
But the complaints continue to roll in.
The MBT plant is old and malfunctioning. In 12 months time Wiltshire Council's kerbside collection of kitchen waste will cut the plant's feedstock substantially according to the council. Andrew is now calling for its early closure as the only way to prevent another year in which his constituents cannot open their windows or enjoy their gardens. He said;
"Enough is enough. It's plain Hills isn't now going to invest in the site to bring it up to date and the plans it has may well not reduce the disgusting smell or may simply shift it elsewhere.
"It's time to say goodbye to the MBT plant. Westbury has had enough - we want it gone."
